Connection Process Reporting

The AESO recognizes the importance of achieving in-service dates for customers and has implemented average project stage duration targets to monitor the effectiveness of the Connection Process.  The AESO will track and report on durations for each stage of the Connection Process.

Four parties are involved in connecting a project to the transmission system and each party can affect performance and achievement of the in-service date.  The four parties include; the Customer, the Transmission Facility Owner, the Alberta Utilities Commission and the AESO.  Each party has various levels of involvement in different stages of the process.

The AESO is in the process of working with stakeholders to understand stakeholder reporting requirements and expectations and will post a mock report in Q2 2010. In Q4 2010, the AESO will issue a report on the beta test, an evaluation of any reasonableness of the duration targets, and a recommendation for any required adjustments to the targets, resource levels or reporting categories.
