Connection Process Redesign
The AESO is committed to improving the delivery of transmission projects and streamlining the processes by which we deliver. Following several months of stakeholder consultation, the AESO implemented a new Connection Process in April 2010.
The AESO will work with TFOs and customers to test and monitor the new Connection Process over Q2 and Q3 2010 and will conduct a process audit at the end of Q3 2010.
By the end of Q2 2010, the AESO is targeting improved Need Identification Document (NID) preparation practices, including the ability to delegate NID preparation to TFOs where efficiencies could be gained.
In 2010, the TOAD initiative is reviewing transmission related documents, including AESO Rule 9.1 (project reporting and procurement), to simplify and clarify the transmission delivery processes and ensure all parties have clearly defined requirements and the visibility of information required to better manage transmission projects.
