PFAM PFEC

The Post Final Adjustment Mechanism (PFAM) was introduced into the Alberta market through the System Settlement Code (SSC) in May 2002. The purpose of PFAM is to ensure that retailers who find errors in Final Settlement have a mechanism through which to correct them. PFAM provides this mechanism, without having to resettle the entire market. The RAM charge, which is the resultant charge from a valid PFAM submission, is UFE that was not properly allocated for the settlement period at the time of Final Settlement, except in the case of bilateral errors.

PFEC was developed to rectify errors before they reach final settlement.
