Non-applicable Standards

The AESO consults with subject matter experts and industry stakeholders to determine the feasibility of adopting North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards as Alberta Reliability Standards. In some instances it is determined that none of the requirements in a specific NERC standard applies to any market participants in Alberta or the AESO. The AESO then makes a recommendation to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) to not adopt these standards. In accordance with Transmission Regulation 86/2007, the Commission must approve or reject the proposed reliability standards.

Through its decision making process the AUC has deemed the following NERC standards as rejected for adoption as Alberta Reliability Standards.
