Authoritative Document Structure and Template

Structure

As the AESO transitions its documents, any binding rights, requirements and obligations, for market participants or the AESO will be contained in the authoritative document (ISO Rule, Reliability Standard and Tariff).  Other non-binding information will be contained in an information document.   Information such as background and general information, examples and process maps would be contained in an information document rather than an authoritative document.  Depending on the nature of each authoritative document an information document may or may not be required.

Authoritative documents will be filed with the Alberta Utilities Commission in accordance with legislation.  Information Documents supporting authoritative documents will be available on the AESO website.

Template

In order to achieve standardization and consistency among authoritative documents a standard template was developed in collaboration with stakeholders. Click here to review the ISO Rule template.  The template will also be used for Reliability Standards but will include an additional section called ‘Measures’.
