Generator System Contribution Factors

The Transmission Regulation requires owners of generating units to make a System Contribution based on the location of the generating unit connecting to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. The System Contribution is refundable over not more than ten years from the date the generating units begins commercial operation, subject to satisfactory operation of the unit. The Generator System Contribution Policy describes the AESO's implementation of these requirements, is updated every odd-numbered year, and establishes the System Contribution amounts that apply in the two subsequent years.
