TASMo is a data model representing the physical elements of the electric transmission system. Data in TASMo allows a power system analyst to mathematically model the electrical characteristics or transmission lines, transformers, machines and devices. This information can then be used to:
- calculate the electric voltages and currents throughout the power system (power flow analysis)
- calculate how active devices respond to disturbances on the power system (transient analysis)
- calculate how much current flows during short-circuit events (fault analysis)
- compile statistics about the Alberta Interconnected Electric System (AIES)
TASMo data is presented in three ways:
The information contained in TASMo can be useful to companies in planning particular projects, identifying or assessing opportunities, and competing for infrastructure projects offered through requests for proposals.
