Grist Lake 190S Substation
The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) advises you of its intent to file an application with the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) to amend the Grist Lake 190S Substation Needs Identification Document Approval No. U2014-166 (Grist Lake NID Approval).
The Grist Lake NID Approval includes the new Grist Lake 190S substation with three 138/25 kV transformers and two new 138 kV transmission lines connecting the Grist Lake 190S substation to the transmission system. These transmission facilities were proposed for 2016 in response to a transmission system access request from FortisAlberta Inc.
FortisAlberta Inc. has requested to delay development of the Grist Lake 190S substation and two 138 kV transmission lines until 2019. The number of transformers at the substation will also change from three to two 138/25 kV transformers.
