Suncor Forty Mile Wind Power Project 964L Connection

Suncor Energy Inc. (Suncor) has submitted two applications to the AESO for transmission system access to connect its proposed Suncor Forty Mile Wind Power Project (Facility) in the Maleb area. One of these requests can be met by a connection to the existing Whitla 251S substation, as further described in the AESO Need Overview (April 2017), "Need for the Suncor Forty Mile Wind Power Project Energy Connection in the Maleb area". The other request can be met by the following solution:

    • Add a 240 kV transmission line to connect the Facility and the existing 240 kV transmission line 964L.
    • Add or modify associated equipment as required for the above transmission developments.
