    Vulcan 255S Substation Upgrade and Stavely 349S Substation Modification

    FortisAlberta Inc. (FortisAlberta) has applied to the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) for transmission system access to reliably serve growing demand for electricity in the Town of Vulcan and Town of Stavely areas. FortisAlberta’s request can be met by the following solution:

    • Upgrade the existing Vulcan 255S substation, including adding a 138/25 kilovolt (kV) transformer and a 138 kV circuit breaker.
    • Modify the existing Stavely 349S substation, including adding a 25 kV circuit breaker
    • Add or modify associated equipment as required for the above transmission developments.
