New Enhancements for MARGO Public
As part of the AESO’s on-going efforts to upgrade and improve our applications, we will be implementing the following enhancements to the AESO’s Monitor and Advice for Reliable Grid Operations (MARGO) Public application.
- Enhanced graphical user experience using an updated web framework
- Release of an Application Programming Interface (API) for MARGO Public
Enhanced Graphical User Interface – September 9, 2020
The AESO is introducing a new enhanced graphical user experience for the MARGO Public application, making the application more modern, user friendly and allowing for greater analysis of data. The new interface has been built using a modern React framework, allowing for greater flexibility and modern functionality possibilities in the future. The new application interface will be available effective September 9, 2020.
On September 9, 2020, the new MARGO Public interface can be reached by navigating to the old MARGO Public page, and clicking a link at the bottom of the screen as shown below:
Preview of the enhanced MARGO Public application
A preview of the new application interface will be available prior to the roll out. Anyone interested may fill out the form at the link below and submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 14, 2020. The preview will be available from August 20, 2020 – September 8, 2020.
Discontinuation of the current MARGO Public interface
To allow for a smooth transition, the current version of the MARGO Public Interface will continue to be available for a limited period of time. Discontinuation of the existing interface will occur in January of 2021. The exact date will be communicated once a date has been finalized.
Application Programming Interface (API) – Final date to be announced
The AESO is happy to announce that it will be releasing an application programming interface (API) for the new MARGO Public application. This will allow MARGO data to be accessed programmatically, providing for more reliability and eliminating the need to ‘screen scrape’ the MARGO Public webpage. This feature is expected to be released before the end of year. The exact date will be communicated once a date has been finalized.
