Strathcona Substation Connection Enhancement (1659)
EPCOR Distribution & Transmission Inc. (EPCOR) has applied to the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) for transmission system access to improve the reliability of electricity services in the south Edmonton area. EPCOR’s request can be met by the following solution:
- Add a 72 kV transmission line to connect the existing Strathcona and Dome substations.
- Upgrade the existing Dome substation, including adding one 240/72 kilovolt (kV) transformer, one 240 kV circuit breaker, and one 72 kV circuit breaker.
- Add or modify associated equipment as required for the above transmission developments.
