Energy Trading System (ETS) - Changes to Public Reports

The effective date of this release has been delayed to May 9, 2024. The previous effective date was May 2, 2024.

The AESO will be implementing changes that will update public reports.  These reports do NOT require the use of a digital certificate to access in the Energy Trading System (ETS). Deployment of these changes will be effective sometime on May 9, 2024. Please see list of reports that will be enhanced below:

    • Public Reports
      • Monthly Outage Report – Gas fuel type will be replaced by new columns ‘SC’ (Simple Cycle), 'Cogen’ (Cogeneration), 'CC’ (Combined Cycle) and ‘GFS’ (Gas Fired Steam). New ‘MBO’ (Mothball Outage) column indicating aggregated MWs on mothball outage.
      • Daily Outage Report – Gas fuel type will be replaced by new columns ‘SC’ (Simple Cycle), 'Cogen’ (Cogeneration), 'CC’ (Combined Cycle) and ‘GFS’ (Gas Fired Steam). New ‘MBO’ (Mothball Outage) column indicating aggregated MWs on mothball outage.
      • 7 Days Hourly Available Capability Report – Gas fuel type row will be replaced by new rows ‘SC’ (Simple Cycle), ‘Cogen’ (Cogeneration), ‘CC’ (Combined Cycle), and ‘GFS’ (Gas Fired Steam).
      • Current Supply Demand (CSD) Report – new row in the SUMMARY category ‘Long Lead Time Volume’. This be the real-time aggregated volume (MW) of energy from source assets that require more than one (1) hour to synchronize to the system under normal operating conditions which are not delivering its energy for reasons other than an outage.

    Application Programming Interface (API) Updates:

    • The AESO is updating the API associated with the Current Supply and Demand Report. The v1/csd/summary/current end point will contain the current Long Lead Time Volume going forward.
    • New APIs for programmatically retrieving hourly generation and load outage data will be released concurrently with the above reports.
