    Fast Frequency Response (FFR) Update

To further efforts to restore import transfer capability following the adjustment to the Load Shed Service for imports/FFR arming requirements earlier in 2023, the AESO has contracted an additional 80 MW of FFR from existing FFR-eligible assets with an effective date of January 22, 2024 to serve as a bridge to the ongoing FFR procurement.

The AESO continues to progress the product and procurement design for FFR services that it has been working closely with stakeholders on. Participants are encouraged to attend the AESO’s FFR Request for Expressions of Interest information session scheduled for February 1, 2024.
