    Constrained Down Generation

Transmission Constraint Management (TCM) Rule Cost Reporting

The Alberta Utilities Commission has directed us to report on costs of the Transmission Constraint Management rule, including cost of constrained-down generation and transmission must run.

    Constrained Down Generation

Occasionally, insufficient transmission capacity causes generation to be constrained. These types of situations are mitigated by AESO system controllers but are sometimes unavoidable. The AESO reports on constrained-down generation in all regions of the province.
