    Lethbridge Transmission Development (7087)

    Transmission system reinforcement is needed in the Lethbridge area to reliably serve the local demand for electricity.

    The AESO’s preferred solution for the Lethbridge Transmission Development includes:

    • Upgrading the 138 kV 207L transmission line by replacing the existing conductors with higher capacity 138 kV conductors.
    • Adding or modifying associated equipment as required for the above transmission developments.

    AltaLink Management Ltd. (AltaLink) is the transmission facility owner (TFO) in the area. While the AESO is responsible for identifying the need for transmission reinforcement and the proposed solutions to meet that need, TFOs are responsible for detailed siting and routing, constructing, operating and maintaining the associated transmission facilities within their service territories.
