Purpose

To provide updates and gather feedback on two related areas of work that support Alberta’s Electricity Framework Transition:

• We will share the AESO’s recommended approach to Market Power Mitigation for Energy Storage and Hydro resources and explain how it fits within the broader market design.
• We will discuss the development of a Cost of New Entry (CONE) study for key reference generation technologies in Alberta, including the proposed process and assumptions.
• There will be opportunities for questions throughout and written feedback windows for both topics following the session
