    Planning Area - Hourly Load and Generation

    In response to a data request, the AESO is providing the hourly load and generation data by planning area for 2015 to 2025.

    The planning area data consists of 5 columns for each hour:

    • Load: sum of metered load (aka: system load)
    • SysGen: sum of metered generation (aka: system generation)
    • CSDGen: sum of generation with a capacity of 5 MW or greater (aka: generation that appears on the Current Supply & Demand report)
    • BTFGen: sum of behind-the-fence generation (defined as CSDGen - SysGen)
    • ActLoad: sum of actual load (using the same definition as AIL) (defined as BTFGen + Load)
